Wishing all our readers a Happy Navratri.
Hope Maa Durga destroys the evil and bless all of us with a safe and healthy life like Raktabija was destroyed by the Goddess years ago.
Let us all pray that Goddess similarly kills the virus.
Today, the world is suffering in a similar way it was suffering before Goddess killed the Raktabīja.
Read the story:
In our Hindu mythology, Raktabīja was a demon (Asura) who was killed by Goddess Kali.
Raktabīja had a boon that whoever would try to kill him and in that process whenever a drop of his blood falls on the ground, a duplicate Raktabīja would be born on that spot which is quite similar to our current situation with Carona Virus.
The eighth chapter of the Devi Mahatmya, Raktabīja-vadh, focuses on Goddess Ambika’s battle with Raktabīja. Raktabīja was wounded, but drops of blood falling on the ground created innumerable other Raktabījas, so Goddess Ambika was finding it difficult to destroy the demon. Now the Goddess Kali joined the battle, who stretched her tongue over the earth and licked up each drop of blood pouring from Raktabīja’s body. Kali devoured his duplicates into her gaping mouth. And Raktabija blood could not fall on the earth, so Goddess was successful in killing the Raktabija.
Let us all pray to Goddess to destroy the Carona Virus in the same way Raktabija was destroyed years ago.
