Do you know Gratitude is one of the most powerful emotions which can help you feel better in life? By practicing Gratitude you will have better mental health and in today’s situation, it is very much important to have good mental health.

One of the studies shows that if everyday you write down things for which you are grateful in a week it will significantly link to increase your well-being. So, we can say that people who keep a journal and keep on writing about things they are grateful they have a better life. While practicing gratitude you have an amazing connect with others and their feelings, also you have an optimistic view towards your life which leads to better sleep and have amazing relationships with people around.

It is scientifically proven that people who practice gratitude have a positive approach towards life and you start seeing good in everything.


Scientific Fact: Neuroscience has shown that the act of being thankful releases dopamine and serotonin in your brain.

Dopamine makes you feel good, whereas Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that activates the happiness center of your brain. And the fact is that your brain cannot focus on positive and negative things at the same time. So this is a key reason why practicing gratitude can help you shift your focus from being sad about the things you don’t have in your life to being glad for the things you do have.

So if you are feeling low during this lockdown period. Follow the 5 steps to practice Gratitude and see the magic, you will evolve with more positive energy and you will feel better.


Step 1: Keep a gratitude journal and add to it every day. Gratitude is a skill that anyone can develop. You just have to keep a journal. You do not have to think deeply about things – just write daily stuff like a movie which you just watch with your spouse, this happens because it was a lockdown and you both have some extra time to spend together or for the board game you just played with your little one.

Step 2: Call every day at least 2 different people who you think are important in your life and you have never told them. Call them and say thanks for being in your life. Everyone likes to be pampered and if you will pamper your people they will leave no chance to pamper you too.

Step 3: Try to add at least one thought every day, and when you have some negative thought, just focus on the positive side of it as everything has two sides. Try to be smart enough to see the other side of everything and once you are able to do so, you will always see the positive out of negative which will help you to stay as a positive person.

Step 4:  Spend time in nature, with some me time. Me time is important to introspect about yourself, about your likes and dislike, about what you did wrong and to rectify your mistakes. Humans are bound to make mistakes, but to say sorry and accept your mistake will help you to develop a positive personality.

Step 5: You should never forget the tough time of your life. Take a moment to write this sad experience in your journal and your journey and then you will able to find many things for which you are grateful for.
